Sec. 18-1. Possession of intoxicating beverages.
The introduction or possession of intoxicating beverages shall be lawful within
the Indian Country of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, provided that
such introduction or possession is in conformity with the laws of the State
of North Carolina. Any Tribal laws, resolutions or ordinances heretofore enacted
which prohibit the introduction or possession of intoxicating beverages are
hereby repealed.

Editor's note--Ord. No. 350, ratified September 13, 2004, amended the Code by repealing former § 18.2 in its entirety. Former § 18-2 pertained to individuals under the age of 21 years and derived from Ord. No. 434, ratified March 9, 1989; Ord. No. 432, ratified June 3, 1993; and Ord. No. 94, ratified March 11, 2000. Similar provisions can now be found in § 14-5.6. Formerly § 18-2 was numbered § 18-3. Ord. No. 94, adopted March 11, 2000 completely repealed § 18-2 which pertained to serving alcoholic beverages and derived from Ord. No. 434, adopted March 9, 1989 and Ord. No. 432, adopted June 3, 1993.
