Understanding Functional Requirements and Standards for Technology Requirements - Click here to download
This tutorial is composed of a two-part workshop that will lead attendees through the process of developing/defining technology functional requirements for a court and how to use the functional requirements in a Request for Proposals (RFP). The primary focus is developing functional requirements for an automated Case Management System (CMS). At the completion of the tutorial sessions, attendees will learn how to develop their own courts' functional requirements document and how to integrate the requirements document into an RFP for a court case management system. Additionally, attendees will learn how to further elicit and gather other functional requirements that are unique to their court business processes and how to draft the end results of the requirements definition phase: a comprehensive list of clear, complete, consistent, and testable requirements for a court software application. The tutorial will use a hands on example situation to walk the participants through the process.

Drug Court Information Systems - Click here to download
Decision making in drug court cases requires information about many aspects of individuals life histories and current behavior. The information needed for operational decision making in individual cases is not limited to the criminal justice sphere or the treatment sphere; it encompasses both, and also includes data about the education, employment, physical, and mental health, houseing and family situations of drug court participants. Courts do not routinely collec and store most of the needed data on individual participants in court cases, and in the past they have rarely had links with other agencies that would enable them to rapidly obtain such data on a routine basis.
